Amanda has been in the optical industry since 2001 as an Optometric Assistant and Optician. She brought her outstanding knowledge and experience to Armstrong Optometry in 2011. Amanda is an expert at optics and lens design, helping with frame and lens selections, and she manages our in-house lab. She can also fit all kinds of soft contact lenses including toric and multifocal designs. Amanda has a young daughter and enjoys snowshoeing.
Lorna is an Optician who joined out team in 2014, with years of experience in the optical industry in the Lower Mainland. She brings her expertise to frame and lens selections, helping you look and see your best! She also does an excellent job of maintaining our ever-changing inventory of ophthalmic frames and sunglasses. She is enjoying her new life as an Armstrong resident and enjoys hammocks and label-makers.
Toni joined the Armstrong Optometry team in 2014 and we have benefitted from her four years previous experience in the optical industry. She is a versatile member of the team, working at reception, pre-testing, frame and lens selection, edging in the lab, and glasses repairs/adjustments. She has two daughters and enjoys camping, skiing, and lounging with a good book!
Sheilah is an Optometric Assistant and front desk manager. We have been lucky to have her working with us at Armstrong Optometry since 2004. Sheilah provides excellent service in all areas of the clinic, particularly at reception, pretesting, and visual field testing. She is also proficient at frame selections and glasses repairs/adjustments. Sheilah enjoys photography, gardening, and snowboarding.
Makayla joined our Team in September of 2017. She has a background in health care, and enjoys all that there is to learn about Optometry. Her main expertise is at the front desk, but as she continues to grow, she will be exploring her hand at other areas in the clinic. Makayla is a new resident to Armstrong, having lived mostly in the Okanagan throughout her life. Gardening and spending time with her family (including her cat “May” and dog “Babe”) are her favorite things.
Maggie joined our team in February of 2019. She is new to Optometry and is enjoying all aspects of pre-testing and front desk. Maggie is a new resident to the area. She enjoys long walks with her dog and fishing in numerous lakes and rivers.
